Fahrenheit Employee Profile: Garrett Glick

He is next up in our Fahrenheit Employee Profile series:
Where are you from?
I was born in Greenville, S.C. – moved to East Lansing, Mich. (my dad’s hometown) and then down to Charlotte, N.C., where I spent most of my childhood and teenage years. I then went to college at Appalachian State University and I moved to Korea after graduating.
Why did you choose to live in Korea?
Because I wanted access to an unlimited supply of fresh kimchi. That and I wanted to travel somewhere that was completely different from anywhere I’ve been before in my life. It was one of the best decisions I’ve ever made.
What did you enjoy most about your time in Korea?
I enjoyed being a minority in one of the most ethnically homogeneous countries in the entire world.
How did you end up in Austin?
I Skyped with one of my best friends from college to talk about where we should move to, and we picked out three cities: Brooklyn, Austin and San Diego. After weighing the pros and cons, we decided on Austin, and I flew straight from Seoul to Austin.
How did you first become interested in account management?
I really enjoy working and communicating with people. I especially like working with a diverse set of personalities, so account management is the perfect fit.
What do you enjoy most about being an Account Manager?
Taking a client’s vision from their first meeting with Fahrenheit and blending it together with our creative and innovative staff’s talent to shape a website that wows the client. Sometimes it’s exactly what they’d envisioned in the beginning, and other times it completely evolves into something even more effective.
What is your favorite thing to do in Austin?
I like to see live music.
What is one thing people would be surprised to know about you?
I’ve been in a Korean television ad.
Anything else you would like to add?
I’ve never been more confident in a team than I am with the incredibly talented staff here at Fahrenheit, and I hope that our clients feel the same way after working with our agency.
