The app was founded in 2008, but fell into apparent obscurity after that as it failed to find its footing. Google bought Bump for about $40 million. Experts say that Google’s intention was to get its hands on experienced engineers and their technology, which has a simplistic user interface, yet complex algorithms under the surface.
Google Adds Four New Patent Agencies to Patent Search
Google created Patent Search as a tool to assist anyone who is searching for information about existing patents. The tool is especially useful to tech entrepreneurs and companies who suffer from the wrath of patent trolls. The four new patent agencies it is adding to its repertoire are the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) and agencies in Germany, China and Canada. These will supplement the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO).
